NickFounding Coach – Nick Clitheroe

“I believe the world can be better. I think organisations have a big role to play. I know people can choose what they do and I get great satisfaction when people I work with achieve what they want.”
I have been fascinated by how people and organisations work since first choosing to study psychology and business more than 20 years ago. I later honed my studies at Aston Business School focusing on organisational behaviour, innovation and leadership.
During my career I have worked at management and board level in a range of organisations including educational trusts, social enterprises and corporates. I bring a wide range of industry experience with a multi-sector perspective and a true passion for developing the people I work with.
In the last five years my interest in “business as a force for good” has led me to work as a coach and consultant, primarily in the creative industries, with innovative social enterprises and in exceptional educational settings. I have recently founded a pay-it-forward foundation – which makes grants to budding socially minded entrepreneurs. I am also a founding member of Bristol’s Social Enterprise Network as well as an SEQ Mentor. I sit on the board of the Robinswood Educational Trust and Chair PAPER Arts CIC’s Advisory Panel.
My personal experience leads me to believe that there is a need for a more elegant, subtle and intricate approach to coaching if we are to tackle the challenges than many of us face in our increasingly complex personal and working worlds.
The way I work combines systemic and narrative disciplines with multi-dimensional coaching models and a holistic person-centred approach. This way of working encourages flow from multiple perspectives and increases the effectiveness of tackling issues and resolving blockages leading to breakthroughs occurring more quickly and sustaining for longer.
I look forward to the opportunity of working together.
